6th Connecticut Regiment, Company of Light Infantry
in association with
The Connecticut DEP, the Staff of historic Putnam Park, and The Friends of Putnam Park
cordially invite you and your unit to the

Putnam Park, Redding, Conn.
October 25-26, 2003

Historic Putnam Park is without a doubt one of the jewels of historic parks here in Connecticut, as well as in the entire Northeast. A wonderful location in western Connecticut, the historic grounds were the site of the northern army encampment during the winter of 1778-79. General Putnam commanded the camp during that time and the current park grounds are where the New Hampshire and Canadian regiments were posted, 224 years ago.

It is a beautiful setting, in the woodlands of western Connecticut. A looping road runs through the park, connecting "Fireback Row" with other points of interest in the park. "Fireback Row" shows the original remains of the firebacks used in the huts that the soldiers erected during that cold and snowy winter of 1778-79.

This site has been the center of many reenactments during the times since the Bicentennial. I am sure that many of you have been here in the past, and we look forward to your appearance this year.

With that in mind, the 6th Connecticut is pleased and proud to extend to you and your unit an invitation to this special event, the 225th Anniversary of Winter Quarters at Camp Redding.

Thank you for your interest in this event.
